Michael is a PhD student at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. He is studying civil conflict and is particularly interested in the psychology of violence. From 2014 to 2018, Michael worked as a Program Officer for Democracy International, a Democracy, Rights, and Governance development contractor for USAID. While there, he worked primarily on the analytical services team in East Africa and South Asia studying Countering Violent Extremism programs. Michael earned his B.A. in Government and Politics and his M.P.P from the University of Maryland.
