Fazal Abbas Awan is a faculty assistant at the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM) and a PhD Scholar at the University of Punjab (Lahore) Pakistan. He is conducting research on space security and space laws. Awan is currently working on "Space militarization Race among China-Russia and USA: Its Implications for South Asia".
Awan is a member of the editorial Board of Astropolitics and has also written numerous policy reports, articles regarding space security. Awan has also participated in the United Nations most prestigious program (GSP-2019) and received the award of the best report writing on 100 years of multilateralism: taking stock and preparing the future. Awan has a master's degree in political science from University of Sargodha and a MPhil degree in South Asian studies (specialization in international relations & space security) from Centre for South Asian Studies, Punjab University.
