Steve Dennis

Steve Dennis is a lecturer at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, a Research Fellow in the Institute for Data Science and Computing at the University of Miami, and an independent senior consultant and advisor to several clients in emerging technology markets.

He has Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dennis has almost 40 years of experience leading research and development activities with US Government agencies to develop emerging technology for next generation missions and capabilities. In the course of this work, Dennis has worked closely with teams in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the National Security Council, Office of Management and Budget, Congressional Committees, Foreign Allies, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, State & Local Governments, Non-profits, Universities and Industry to achieve innovation outcomes. 

Dennis has appeared in broadcast media including CNN, CBC, Discovery Channel and has been quoted in global print media related to the development of new technologies. Dennis received a Presidential Meritorious Senior Professional Rank Award and Silver Medal for Meritorious Service from the Secretary of Homeland Security
